Sahayatri Fellowship Program
"Nagarik Chautari is built and run by a small team at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, supported by Nepalis who choose to lend their time and skills to this work. This is a space for those who want to contribute to nation building in a tangible, time bound way, without leaving their current role, country, or career."
Short Term Fellow (3 to 6 months)
Take on a defined piece of work such as designing a cycle, leading a research strand, supporting a ministry partnership, or building part of the platform. Remote, hybrid, or in person depending on the role.
Volunteer Contributor (hours, days, or weeks)
Offer expertise on your own schedule. Review a draft, join a working group, contribute to a Sprint, translate materials, or support a specific cycle. Contribute as little as a few hours or stay for a full cycle.
Where Sahayatris contribute
Policy research and drafting. Platform and product design. Facilitation and Sprint moderation. Translation in Nepali, English, and regional languages. Communications and outreach. Data analysis and consensus mapping. Diaspora engagement. Legal and regulatory review. Sector expertise in health, education, labour, digital governance, public finance, and other fields.
Who this is for
Nepalis at home and in the diaspora with professional experience in any field where the platform can benefit from external expertise. Students, mid career professionals, retired specialists, and returning diaspora are all welcome. What matters is the time you can offer and the skill you bring, not your title.

The Nagarik Chautari secretariat reviews your application and matches you with a current need.
You are invited for a short conversation with the relevant team lead.
You receive a letter of engagement describing scope, duration, and expectations.
You contribute remotely or in person, on your own schedule within agreed milestones.
You are recognised as a Sahayatri of Nagarik Chautari.
